For our 10th and final internal She-TO Boost post, we’re excited to present our Marketing Intern— Chloe. As our youngest team member, Chloe brings an exciting and positive energy to our Toronto office. She’s our social media guru, and she happily and effectively tackles each challenge that comes her way. She’s never seen without an iced coffee in hand, or a stylish, J.Crew inspired outfit. Once the summer is done, Chloe will be moving back to Kingston, Ontario for her second year of Commerce at Queens University.
It’s our ninth instalment of She-TO Boost, and we’re excited to give you an inside look at Victoria — CTO Boost’s Project Manager. As one of the brain’s behind the conceptualization of She-TO Boost, Victoria is a clear example of what it means to be a powerful, strong woman in tech. Though Victoria comes from a small town North of Haliburton, she has big city dreams. After studying law in University, Victoria made the decision to pursue an alternative career path: Tech. Victoria is a meticulously organized Project Manager with a witty sense of humour and a team-player attitude which derives from her background in competitive sports. She’s quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, so much so that she’s the team-appointed IT support person. As a strong behind-the-scenes force at CTO Boost, we’re pleased to put Victoria in the spotlight for once!
For our 8th installment of She-TO Boost we are pleased to present Mikayla, our Marketing Specialist! Venti iced americano in hand, Mikayla welcomes and tackles every challenge that comes her way. Her hard work is about to pay off- next week is her graduation and her birthday! It’s no secret that technology is a male-dominated industry. According to a recent study, women hold less than 20 percent of the technology jobs in the United States, despite accounting for more than half of the country’s workforce. Recently, Observer published an article outlining some statistics that show how large the gender gap in technology is. Here are some key takeaways.
It’s the fifth instalment of She-TO Boost, and this week we’re featuring CTO Boost’s Administrative Assistant – the marvellous Maggie! Whether it’s organizing a company outing, crossing another item of her to-do list, or preparing for the next conference, Maggie is the foundation of the company and keeps everything running smoothly. She’s a lover of all things wine, pizza, and food-related, and she ensures that our employees are never without a mid-day, pick-me-up snack. Plus, she’s likely the only person that could keep our CEO Gurminder on time.
For the fourth instalment of our She-TO Boost blog series, we’re so excited to announce Ebru: CTO Boost’s UX/UI Design Extraordinaire! Ebru’s slick design skills and astonishing innovation shines through in every project that she puts her creative touch on. Not only is she a skilled UX/UI designer, a fan of a quick midday shopping trip, and an avid traveller, but she’s also a professional at all things video game related. On a Thursday afternoon, you can catch our Turkish Delight Ebru beating everyone in the office in Mario Kart – even the Devs.
One hand on the reigns, the other on our hearts, introducing Keira, our Operations Manager! With a project management Midas touch, she brings focus, organization, and purpose to every project she encounters.
The tech industry is vibrant and growing, yet we still don’t hear that much about everyday women working in tech. We felt it was important to share the experiences of all the wonderful women we work with and their careers in the tech industry this far.
